Sophomore Year
The sophomore year is an important year academically for both high school graduation and college. Counselors work with students to make sure that they are placed in the right level of classes and inform them of any credit recovery or summer school programs if needed for credit make up. High achieving sophomores can begin taking Honors level classes (English and Chemistry) and some AP level classes (Spanish, Studio Art) depending on what they have completed so far. Colleges consider the sophomore year GPA to be important for admission criteria.
